Children: Vocal and Bell Choirs

SUMC has a wonderful music program for children. The vocal and bell choirs meet most Sunday afternoons for practice, and perform about once per month at the 10:30 service.

Vocal Choirs

• Cherub Choir (age 4 through grade 1): Rehearses Sundays 6:00-6:25 p.m. in the choir room. Sings occasionally for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Cherub Choir along with the Junior Choir also prepares an annual musical/cantata.
• Junior Choir (grades 2 - 6): Sings once per month for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Junior Choir along with the Cherub Choir also prepares an annual musical/cantata.

Bell Choirs

• Rainbow Ringers (grades K - 1):  Rings occasionally for the 10:30 a.m. worship service and participates in handbell concerts. Music reading ability is not required. We have some wonderful handbells that were donated that are perfect for the younger ages.  I had a great time teaching kids at CWP to play bells this past year and would love to introduce them to the church program.  They learn to play bells through colors and letters, ideal for this age.
• Joyful Ringers 1 (grades 2 - 3): Kids these ages are very interested in bells and get a chance to have fun with the bells and chimes. Music reading is not necessary for this choir.
• Joyful Ringers 2 (grades 4 - 6): Kids these ages are very interested in bells and get a chance to have fun with the bells and chimes. Music reading is not necessary for this choir.

For Parents

While your little ones practice, you are welcomed to join other parents in the comfortable family waiting room next to the choir practice room, room 114.
